I love anything Herschel. The quality, durability, and size of this bag is AMAZING. This is my third backpack from Herschel. The first backpack I got from them was over five years ago. I bought this one (used for my tattoo gear) and another bag for my office job.The tattoo bag Carrie’s my tattoo gun, power supply, gloves, ink, soap, bottle, and all of my sanitation supplies comfortably. I am also able to carry my personal laptop in the designated sleeve and still have room leftover in the bag and in the front pocket.The second bag I purchased that is used for my office job is a little bit bigger than this one because of my work laptop being 15 inches or so but I am able to carry a pencil pouch (also Herschel ;)), large spiral notebook, steno pad, my lunch bag / container, my eyeglasses case, and my 24 oz hydro flask WITH SO MUCH ROOM LEFT.This company hits the nail on the head when it comes to quality and durability. I only wish other products I buy were made as good as the ones that come from Herschel.You can tell by the feel of the material down to every stitch time and great effort went into making a good product.Love love all of their pieces. Can’t wait to see what comes out next!!Nice to useI unfortunately do not have a car, this backpack is amazing for carrying groceries.Bought a Herschel in early summer 2020 for my daughter who was going to start 2nd grade as she had gone through several zippered backpacks from cheap Walmart to Jansport where they couldn’t make it through a whole year before biting the dust. So, I opted for a non-zippered option and can confirm, 2 years of dedicated use, she still looks brand new (which is also surprising since it would also be thrown onto the ground, outside etc. I will update my review when she graduates high school in 9 years and will still probably be looking great! No loss of cushioning in the straps either which most others fail too. Save some unneeded trash in the the landfill and buy a Herschel to withstand the rest of time!Too small if you're going to use it for college and you've got more than a couple textbooks. In the main compartment, I can only fit one 1.5" binder, one 382-page 7" x 10" paperback textbook, one 132-page paperback workbook with the same dimensions, and one of those neoprene pencil cases and my checkbook wallet placed on top of all of that, but not much else. I might not even be able to fit a laptop in the laptop compartment with all that if it's not one of the thinner ones out there, though I don't actually have a suitable laptop to test and confirm that with other than my old Alienware M14x, which is pretty damn thick.In the laptop compartment though, I did manage to fit in a New Nintendo 3DS XL, a hard-shell earphone case, a Kindle Oasis, and my checkbook wallet when I wanted my wallet there since there are almost no small pockets or compartments inside other than the aforementioned laptop and main compartment. But other than those two, there are only two pockets on each side suitable and wide enough for maybe some cables for charging your phone on one side if you brought along a phone charger, and a place to put a DAP/MP3 player on the other side where there's a hole where your earphone or headphone cables can go out through. That's the only thing I can think of that you'd want to put in there because it's taller than it is wide. It's actually barely wide enough fit the adapter that came with my old Galaxy Note 4 charger. If you're putting as much stuff in this bag as I did, especially if you have something as wide as a binder, your binder or books might catch on the side pockets, making packing up take longer as you have to try to fit your arm in this tight space too to get the top of the pockets out of the way of the corners of the binder/book you're trying to put in.There's also only one outside pocket which can be big or small, depending on what you want to put in there and how you arrange them. I managed to put four thick dry-erase markers, a mini stapler, a pair of scissors, a huge glue stick, a Colourpop lipliner and Lippie Stix, my keys which has a lot of keychains, a pack of Trident gum, a couple of bandages, a rectangular Sephora compact mirror, my bus pass which is as big as a credit card, a coin purse, and three pens. I actually had an extremely hard time fitting all that in before until I arranged all the dry erase markers, the Colourpop items, pens, glue stick, and the scissors to be standing vertically.It's also very light. At least it makes any heavy stuff that's inside feel like you're barely carrying anything that heavy. I tried carrying the same stuff I put in this in a Kipling backpack, and you can really feel the weight on that bag.Four stars because it's very small, but I'm giving it five stars because I totally love the cute and stylish pattern used. Looks really great in person, and I thought it already looked pretty great in the pictures.Great seller. My backpack showed it was delivered but nowhere to be found. When I contacted the seller they asked me to give it a week and if still no backpack they would send a replacement, no questions asked. Fortunately it didn’t come to that, as the backpack showed up 2 days later. Oh and btw, the backpack is great. Herschel makes great products and this bag is no exception. Very happy with the qualityThe mid volume is too small.This bag is comfortable and made from nice materials. There is plenty of room for a large laptop (I use a 15" Macbook) and my other day to day work stuff too. The magnetic attachments for the straps are strong and it feels secure.However... I have used this as my day to day bag for work for about 10 weeks now and the seam at the bottom has already split and a large hole (about 2 inches wide) has opened up, which is really disappointing. What's more, this seller (SHOES.PLEASE) are unwilling to offer a replacement or a refund.So I am now left with an expensive bag that is 90% OK but largely unusable due to poor manufacturing quality and a poor returns policy from the seller.Since I bought this bag (4 years ago) I have been travelling with it and it has been used for all my 2-3 days trips. I also use it when I go to the supermarket as it is quite spacious and many products can be added in it. Highly suggest to invest in one of these!This is a good bag, it does what you want it to. Some of the details are fantastic, like the fleece lined laptop sleeve and the zip and clasp for the small front pocket. But, because of the size of the bag, even when it has barely anything in it, the bag is quite bulky. As I travel a lot, especially during peak times and mostly on trains, I often need to take the bag off to walk down the aisles as it hits the chairs and respectively the people sitting on the chairs as I walk down with it on my back. It is a fantastic bag for travelling, but it could be doing with having a waterproof cover either attached or detachable, I have a bag from Vans which has this and it is very useful. I bought this bag because it has a lot of space for equipment and as I travel with a lot of musical equipment (i.e. laptop, interfaces, cables, hard drives etc) I found that normal sized backpacks were just too small, this handles all that with a lot of remaining space. I would recommend this bag for travelling or for people with a lot of equipment they need to move. If you're looking at this bag for normal use, I think it would be too big and bulky.Bought this for my son for uni. He loves it! His previous Herschel bag has lasted 6 years and is still in excellent condition. He needed a larger one so this is ample big enough for files etc or to use as a weekend bag. It looks good, is very practical and is comfortable to wear. It may seem an expensive bag but judging on the quality and how long his previous bag lasted, it’s worth it.I cannot stress how poor the quality of this product is.First, the bag that was sent was the wrong colour (ordered black w/ brown straps and received black/black)Second, and more importantly, the bag is clearly HEAVILY used (see pictures). There are scuffs all over the bag, the magnetic clips are broken/covered in a sticky substance and there are INK stains on the interior of the bag. Not pictured is the horrendous smell of sweat & body-odour that struck me first when I opened the packaging. This is supposed to be a new bag and is anything but. I cannot imagine any scenario in which this bag was seen by an employee and determined to be fit for sale. The bag is being returned, but I am quite disappointed that for the price of this bag, all I have received is the inconvenience of having to return the product and a lingering smell in my living room.
