I am very pleased with our new Camelbak Arete 14. Let’s be clear, it is a water bladder so the instructions were not difficult. Still they were clear and to the point.I filled the bladder from the refrigerator spigot which was easy and neat due to the size of the mouth and rigid opening. The loop holding the bladder up in the backpack is a very welcome feature that precludes the bladder slipping down into the bowels of the backpack.I added the dog’s leash, a few treats, a foldable water bowl to the backpack’s pockets and we were out of the door on two mile hike through the woods. While hiking, I found that the shoulder straps were easy to adjust although the slack is only retained by a rubber band in lieu of a permanent retainer. The mouthpiece is retained in a metal clip which is another welcome improvement for me. When I went to sip through the mouthpiece, I was pleasantly surprised to find easy to read guides as to whether the shut off valve was open or closed. Also, the mouthpiece was angled in toward me making its use very easy. The size, weight, awesome convenience features, and dependability of this Camelbak system make it a five star winner and a permanent feature in our hiking gear.
